AHSC166: More Interactive Fun!!
It's the last day of the month ... and so I have to go back to using pre-determined images, but I wanted to show you one last card I made using my NEW Art Impression images. How freakin' cute is this guy? You can't tell from the picture but his hand wobbles back and forth!
It's my sister's birthday in a few days and I wanted to make a card especially for her. She is THE biggest UofA Wildcat fan. She will watch football, baseball, softball, basketball, you name it (in fact, I'm pretty sure if they had a competitive marble team she would watch the games!)
I'm using the sketch over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog. I rotated the sketch so it would be perfect for my image. I'm also participating in the embossing challenge over on Dragonfly Journeys. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the red is embossed with stars.

PP301: Spinning
My kids are cranky with me because I just made them go outside to play. Before he went out, the oldest tried the "It's hot" argument (it's 81 with clouds ... sooo not hot) and I had to restrain myself because it was on the tip of my tongue to say: "When I was your age, it was 110 in the shade!" I did tell them that they only had to stay outside for an hour (sigh). The wusses.
I just bought a whole bunch of AI stamps and finally had some free time to play with them. I bought this spinner image and had NO IDEA how to make a spinner card so I had to research a bit.
There are a ton of images of finished cards but very few really good tutorials. I found this one on Pinterest if you are at all interested in making one yourself. Her coloring technique is pretty amazing, I didn't fast forward once (which is pretty unusual for me)!
You can see the movement this kind of card has with this picture. -----}
Some things I learned making my card:
- If I had to do it again, I'd probably buy the dies. Cutting her out was painful.
- I probably should have matched the thread color to my background. The white thread bugs me.
- If you have a lot to say in your card ... this probably isn't the card to make. You can't write on the inside of your card!
But, it's seriously fun. I've been playing with it since I made it. I think I might "need" the kitten mini spinner that AI has in stock now!
I'm using the sketch from over on the Paper Players' site. It totally worked for this card.

SS418: Bugaboo
Yay Saturday!!
My favorite day of the week!! On THIS day, I get to sleep in and caffeinate myself as often as I like! Speaking of caffeine and exciting things ... it's time for another challenge over on the Sketch Saturday site. We have the fabulous Jodie from Bugaboo as our sponsor.
Our sketch is so fun; I know that I will use it again. For my card I used one of the new Gus images: Tidbits of Consciousness. Jodie is offering up her usual fabulous prize: 9 FREE images (yes, nine!)
I hope that you will join in the fun this week.

Doodle Pantry: Happy Birthday Sue
Popping in to show you a card that I made for my Mother-In-Law. It turned out awfully cute (if I do say so myself!) And look at me, being all organized for her birthday next Tuesday!
I'm using an image from Doodle Pantry called Betta Fish and Bowl. This set reminds me of my college days when my roommate came home with 4 of these fish and we (stupidly) put them all in one bowl. Over the course of the week, Moby Dick, Filet O' Fish, and Sushi all died because of Mike (we ran out of cute names). Mike flourished, after ridding the bowl of his competition, and lasted quite a long time. Oh Mike ... how I miss you!
And hey, speaking of cute images, Laurie will have some new images for us next month! Yay.

I'm using Mary

Happy Fah-der's Day
One of my favorite sketch challenge sites, Tuesday Morning Sketches, had a fun sketch this week. I know that you will be STUNNED to learn that I still have cards to finish for tomorrow's holiday!! And since the TMS sponsor is also one of my favorites: Bugaboo. It was a sign to join in the fun.

I hope YOUR boy has a good holiday tomorrow.

DP: Inspiration Destination
Midway through the month (can you believe it?) and btw, Happy Flag Day yesterday. I hope you got out to celebrate. We had a day of torrential rain so ... no outside celebration here. Lightning hit the building where my youngest was having Lego Camp so I was pretty happy to get us all home without anyone dying from electrocution!
Today I want to show you another card featuring Doodle Pantry. We are sponsoring the challenge over on the Inspiration Destination blog. Their challenge is Anything Goes. Pretty easy-peasy. I used one of the images in the Autumn Critters set and just colored it to make it look summery instead.
I hope you join the fun.
