CCC-On the Beach or Under the Sea Challenge

Good morning my friends.

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Creative Card Crew Challenge.  For this one, we want you to go to the beach (or get under the sea).  It's an appropriate theme since the amazing Michelle Perkett is sponsoring this challenge.

I chose to use her Camille since this image fit the theme so well.  I tried to imitate my teamie's ribbon explosion technique but it kinda ended up being more of a ribbon whimper.  I don't think I used enough ribbon.  If you want to see a REAL ribbon blossom, check out Angela's blog (who by the way, just hit 100 followers)  Congratulations Sweetpea.

Get Well Tom!

I needed a get well soon card and since it's for a man, I wanted it to be silly.  I immediately thought about AI's Dotty.  Isn't she a hoot?

And ... since the kids have Science camp in the mornings, I had some time to peruse some blogs.  I was challenged by both The Pink Elephant's challenge of "orange" and I really liked Lou's sketch at Fetch-A-Sketch this fortnight.  I decided to try to incorporate both into my card.

I don't use orange often but I really like how this card turned out!

CCC: Black Cardstock Challenge

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Creative Card Crew Challenge.  This week we want you to make something amazing using black cardstock.

Our sponsor is Kenny K.  He has some great coloring tutorials on his site.  I really do recommend a looksie.

I used a REALLY old sketch from Mojo Monday.  I'm actually ashamed to admit that it's from June of 2010.  It's one of those sketches that I've been meaning to get to ... but never do.

So come to the darkside, join CCC this week in a great challenge!  You may win a prize when you link your creation.

Happy Bastille Day

Happy Saturday Peeps.

It's time for another rousing game of "Find Joanna's mistake."  I had my youngest with me while I was creating.  Just trying to keep pokey things out of his hands is enough to try the patience of the pope.  Apparently I have quite a few dangerous items down there!  I wasn't fast enough and he still managed to knock over the elmer's glue (which he had removed the top from because "it wasn't coming out fast enough") all over the table.  Sigh.

So I got  distracted when I finally sat down to build my card.  Found the problem yet?  I placed the other elements on the card incorrectly and the hearts are sideways.  Ugh.  Of course I didn't notice my mistake until I was done and showing the hubby.

I'm trying to get-over my OCD desire to take apart the card and fix it.  Let's see how long that lasts!  I found this paper in the clearance section of Archivers.  It's Valentines Day paper but I think it works for July too!  I feel so thrifty today.  I should probably go shopping in the All That Scraps store to spend my savings.  Doncha think?!!

High Hopes Sketch Challenge

Yay, I'm a guest designer for the High Hopes blog!

This week was a sketch by the talented Anna.  It was a fairly straight forward, just squares.

I couldn't decide what kind of buttons to use, so I went with both, but now looking at it, it looks like eyeballs!  I was going for more of a virus look with all the dots!

I need a bunch of 'get well' cards since I have four friends having surgery this month!  Yikes.

So get sketchy and join us.  Use a High Hopes stamp and you could win the free stamp of your choice.

Accessories: Buttons, Copics, Sewing Machine, Crystal Effects

Happy Birthday Cyndi

Today is my sister's birthday though I'm not going to tell you the number to respect her privacy.  Honestly, looking at her, you would NEVER guess that she has reached THAT milestone.  She looks great ... and I'm not just saying that to be a kiss-a@@

But ... since I am a snotty younger sister, I did have to poke fun at her a tiny bit.  I used this fabulous image from Inky Antics.  Surprise, it's an elephant!  I DO have a love for elephant stamps!

I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I rotated the whoe sketch and then substituted balloons for flowers  but I think that you can sorta see the sketch!

Happy birthday favorite sister.  I hope we celebrate a bunch more together, especially the way we're doing it THIS year.  Loving the idea of a yearly spa day!!  I loves ya.

Creative Card Crew: Pearls and Swirls

 Welcome Tuesday!

I'm chirpy today because (1) I have a house to live in and (2) I am IN my house.  And that is in large part to the efforts of a lot of firefighters, policemen and forest rangers.  I TOTALLY would have made a firefighter card but ... I don't have a firefighter stamp (kinda thinking I NEED this one tho from MFT or maybe even this one from Whippersnapper)  I MAY even need both!!!

But back to Creative Card Crew!  This week, we are hosted by the amazing Simon Says Stamp and we want you to create something beautiful with pearls, swirls or both.  My card has both swirls from Memory Box dies and also four pearls up by the sentiment.

When you use the linked in tool on our page, you become eligible for a $20 gift certificate at the Simon Says store.  Pretty cool.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Use it Tuesday: Be a Patriot

Stamps: Whippersnapper Designs, MFT: phrases
