TMS311/Dragonfly-Christmas

Today is the last day for the boys' Pistol Shooting Club.  Not gonna lie, I'm dancing the "happy dance" in my head (I can't be overly jubilant since I am in the minority about it ending).  The twice weekly rushed dinners, followed by the crazed exit out the door, and grabbing stuff as we go (inevitably finding that someone has left glasses or some other crucial element at home) are almost over.  Yay.

To celebrate it's end, I made dinner early and ran down to craft.  I wanted to join in Jeannie's Christmas in July challenge.  Here it is folks ... the first Christmas card of 2015.  It's a tad crooked but, heck, it's done.  One down, 74 more to make.  Ugh.

I'm using the sketch from over at Tuesday Morning Sketches, one of my favorite sketch blogs.

SSW2: DeeDee's Designs

We have some fun going on over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  We have the return of Dee Dee's Designs AND the return of great sketch.

This week I'm using Rainy Day for my image (I love Daniel the Duck).  I thought it might be fun to make it into a shaker card.  I MAY have used a tad too many beads and sequins inside buuut, I was going for sparkle pizazz!

I hope that YOU will post YOUR picture of a completed card on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 site.  You have the chance to win $15 from the Dee Dee Design site.

TMS + From The Heart Stamps

Hey, look at me being all organized for the From the Heart progressive challenge this month.  I'm done with a week to spare.  I think that this is a personal record!  And no wonder, Faith gave us such a darling image to work with this month.  It's the Inner Tube BirdBrain: with two images and five matching phrases.  It's a pretty good deal.

I'm also using the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  It was perfect for this image.

SSW2-62: Sami Stamps

There are weeks when the mojo is sooo low.  This week was one.  I have to admit that I was REALLY grateful that I was the one writing the post over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  It gave me the extra time to take another run at this week's sketch.

My first card was just a bit too busy.  I was not a fan of my paper choices.  I wasn't crazy about how I colored the cat ... frankly, I hated it.  So I decided to scrap the whole thing and start over.

I ran over to the Sami Stamps shop and bought a few more images.  BTW: I really do encourage a visit.  While you are there, check out the freebies tab.  Sami has some fantastic images for free and the one above is FREE with a $4.00 purchase.  That is a pretty amazing deal.

As you may have guessed, This week Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 is lucky enough to have Samantha Siemers Ratliff returning as our sponsor.   Sami has an ever expanding selection of digi images at Sami Stamps.

But this story does have a happy ending.  I REALLY like my second card and ... as for my first card ... well, (sigh) you can never have too many birthday cards lying around!

72 Hour Challenge: Gerda Steiner

I had a 10 minute breather between all the fun and craziness that goes along with the birthday of a 10 year-old (yes, I will freely admit that I am downstairs in my studio, hiding from my children ... shhh).

After home-made waffles, presents, and a trip to see Jurassic World with 12 of his favorite friends ... I'm exhausted.  We still have tacos and another dinosaur movie to get through before I can put my slippers on and waddle off to bed.

But, during my breather, I whipped this up to participate in the 72 hour challenge over at Gerda Steiner.  I'm using the sketch from the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  I love how my card turned out.

SSW2-61: DigiStamp Boutique

Welcome back to another Wednesday challenge over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  This week we have another sketch and the return of Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.

I loved Sally's sketch this week.  It was totally easy and it let me use a bunch of wild papers.  I love how bright my card turned out!  I know that I will use this sketch again.

I chose to use The Cluck Cluck set for my card. This set is seriously cute.  It comes with four darling images AND four equally cute coordinating phrases.  Sally-Ann is offering our winner a £10 voucher to her store.

I really DO hope to see you join in the fun.

Psst: look below to see a picture of the 'fam' in Alaska.

SSW2-60 Fresh Brewed Designs

First of all, let me say .... "Happy Birthday to both my sister (love you sweetie) and Sally Dube!  OK, Sally's was technically yesterday but hey, it's the thought that counts.  Be sure and swing by her blog and wish her a VERY happy day.

In other news, it's Wednesday and time for another sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 This week we are sponsored by Heather from Fresh Brewed Designs.  Heather is offering up three free digis to our winner.  Heather has some super cute digis on her site and you might want to check out the fundraising tab while there.  Her mom is quite sick and could use a helping hand.

Without further delay, let me show you our sketch.  It was quick to use and is really VERY versatile.  I rotated it so it would fit the Cutie Bug Latte image that I used.  I hope to see you play.

Tuesday Morning Sketch 307

Happy Fourth of July Baby!

Just waiting for the sun to go down so I can give my little darlings sparklers and sit with the neighbors, drink some wine and set a few things on fire.  I love living outside the city limits!

I wanted to share my card for a few challenges.  I used the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I'm also creating a card for Jeannie's "You Are My Sunshine" challenge  over on Dragonfly Journeys.  I knew that I had to use this image when I read her theme.  Talk about being perfect.

I'm also using this for the Fresh Brewed Blog challenge of Movies.  My movie is "Empire of the Sun."  A bit intense at times, but really, REALLY good (plus it stars John Malkovitch and Christian (aka: so very yummy) Bale)  When I married my sweetie, I knew that I was required to watch war movies with him.  This movie is pretty darn good.

Off to go grill.  I hope your holiday is fun too!

Your Smile

Finishing up all my progressive challenges.  This one is from Gerda Steiner.  How cute is this little guy?  I just found her digital images and I think that I will "need" several more of them soon. I love the chubby little legs on this little guy!

I'm using the sketch from over at Sketch Saturday.  It was perfect for this image.

In other news, my oldest MAY have set a world record for orthodontics.  He had them on for 22 hours before he managed to touch them off, thus requiring another visit to the orthodontist.  I'm getting to know the office staff fairly well now!

SSW2: Bugaboo

Happy Wednesday Peeps.

Can you believe that it is JULY?!!  Yikes, where did June go? The boys start Whiz Bang Science camp next week.  The youngest is soo excited.  He can't wait to play with explosives and make new friends.  OK, there probably won't be explosive but the theme is "Mad Science" (and I know that there WILL be robotics) so I'm pretty sure that even the oldest (who would rather sit in his room and play on the iPad) will have fun too!

We've got a fun new sketch for you over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  I rotated the sentiment up ... I just liked it better upright.

We are once again hosted by the fabulous Jodi over at Bugaboo.  Our winner will be hooked up with  7 free digi images!!  Yippee.  Come on, you know you want to play ...
