DP: G'day to You

Check out this sweet little koala!  Each month I keep saying that I'm going to "be more organized" and finish my DT obligations early aaaaaand it never happens.  I'm finishing everything with less than 48 hours to spare (and technically, I have ONE more card to make so it's ready to post by the first of NEXT month).  Ugh.  Next month I promise to be more organized (but I wouldn't hold your breath)

My cute koala is from Doodle Pantry, the Aussie Critters collection.  Laurie makes her digital images in both line art and the colored versions.  Since I was behind schedule, I chose to use the pre-colored version.  Such an easy way to catch up.

I'm using the sketch from The House that Stamps Built blog.  So cute.

Just 4 Kim

I needed another card.  A friend of mine is getting out of the hospital and I wanted to have a card waiting for her at her house when she rolls in.  So I set aside my Valentine stamps and pink papers to make this for her.

I love this little hippo.  He's from Gerda Steiner.  Just a reminder that she's looking for designers for the month of March.

I'm using the sketch from over on The Paper Players blog.  It was cute and worked perfectly with my image.

Hope your Thursday is GREAT!

TMS 336: Holy Cats Batman, more cute kitties

I just got a haircut yesterday but two days earlier, in a fit of anger, I cut my own bangs.  I can honestly say that this is never a good idea!  Now, I look like I'm six years old because my stylist had to cut so much off to even out my own "trim."  Ugh.

But what IS cute ... this little kitty from Gerda Steiner.  He's the freebie this month.  In exchange for using it, I will get the next month's image for free.  Yay, free stuff is good!!  And, other news from the GSD site, Gerda is looking for Guest Designers.  If you like to color really cute images, this might be the challenge for you.

I'm using the sketch over on the Tuesday Morning Sketches site.  It was also super cute.

FTH136: Love You Buck-o

I live with 3 VERY smart boys.

But this morning, they were all as helpless as, well, kittens.

The oldest couldn't find his car keys (I found them ... in his other coat's pocket)  The middle boy couldn't find a cup to use.  I introduced him to the crazy concept of opening the dishwasher to find the clean dishes (had there been more time this morning, I would also have introduced him to the equally wild idea to EMPTY said dishwasher!)  And finally the youngest couldn't find his belt (it was on the floor).  Sigh.

So you can imagine that I smiled when I saw this image.  Kinda perfect for my helpless kittens.  This is the free image From The Heart is offering this month.  I'm also using the sketch from their blog.  It worked out beautifully.  As always, I modified it a tad.

I'm also entering this in Jeannie's "Soft Kitty" theme over on her Dragonfly Journeys blog.  I love The Big Bang Theory so how could I NOT participate in this one?!!

Sketch Saturday 396 Drawn with Character

Good morning all!

It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Sketch over on the Saturday Sketch blog.  We have a new sketch for you and the return of a favorite sponsor: Drawn With Character.

I really love this sketch.  It's so simple; it totally forced me to think outside my typical layered box.  This is pretty Clean and Simple for me!

And how sweet is this image?  It's called: We Go Together Like Coffee and Donuts.  Kinda perfect for me because I'm round like the donut and I do love me some coffee!  It's the perfect card for me to give my guy this Valentine's Day.

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations and give them some love. I hope you will give the sketch a try!

Hell-ooo Spring!!

I know, I complain when it's hot and summery but I really don't like it when I'm cold either which is why I'm choosing Spring and Fall as my favorite seasons.  Sadly it's only January but the good news: this weekend is supposed to be in the 50s.  Wa-hoo!  I'm ready to be a tad warmer.  Maybe we can actually go to the mountains and hike for a bit.

To celebrate the return of warmer weather I wanted to make a card full of green goodness.  This little guy is from the Plush Panda set over on the Doodle Pantry site.  Pretty stinkin' cute, huh?

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Kraftin' Kimmie: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: Critters
Fresh Brewed: Favorite Season
Ruby's Rainbow: Animal Magic
Dragonfly Journeys: It's a Jungle Out There

SSW2-Beccy's Place

It's Wednesday again, my peeps
(is just me or does the week following a long weekend just seem ... somehow... longer?!!)

It's time for another fun challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have a new sketch and a brand NEW sponsor.

Drumroll please:  Introducing Beccy from Beccy's Place.  She's offering up three digi-images or one set from her shop to the winner of our challenge.  It's a great prize ... I found LOTS of images that I wanted!

I'm using one of the cuties from her Cuddlebug's Set for my card.  I paired the image with a phrase from Memory Box and little bees  are from Stampin Up.

Ready to see the sketch?  Here it is:

TMS: Having a "hippy" kind of day!!

I spent this morning with my youngest.  He's decided that he wants to be in the Shakespeare play that his school is putting on.  This year's play: Romeo and Juliet.  I asked him if he wanted to be Romeo and he declined.  "There is kissing, Mom.  No way."  He wants to be Tybalt: "Romeo, thou art a villain!"  Soo we have been practicing his lines and acting.  I really do hope he gets a part.

How great is this hippo from Doodle Pantry?  I'm using the Doodle Pantry image: Harrietta Hippo.  She's a bit crooked now that I look at my card but she looks like she is ready to have some seriously happy fun.  I love all the bright colors on this card.

I'm also using the Tuesday Morning Sketches design.  I just made my card into a square instead of a rectangle.

FTH 134: Ahhh, coffee

Just a quick post before we rush off to multiple clubs (ever notice that any club your children join, all seem to meet on the same night, at the exact time?!!)

I had a bit of extra time this morning (OK, I was supposed to be vacuuming but who wants to do THAT?) anyway, I dodged that bullet by escaping to the studio to craft.

I'm using the sketch (sorta) on the From The Heart blog.  I took a few liberties with the fishtails and added a bit to the inner rectangle.  I did use their twist of dots and stripes.

I'm also participating in the Catch the Bug Challenge this month.  My tic-tac-toe was the bottom row: die cut, stitches (they are the faux stitching around my circle) and sentiment.

I also wanted to join in the "You Crack Me Up" theme over on Dragonfly Journeys.  These birdbrains really DO crack me up.  Love his expression!

Sketch Saturday 394: Farting Hearts

First of all, I am super excited to say that I was chosen to be on the Sketch Saturday team!  I love the sketches on this site so it's pretty cool to be part of it.

And since I was on this new team, I really wanted my first card to be good.  I decided to show the card to the husband.  His comment: "why does it look like your bird is farting out hearts?"

"Seriously?"

Husband (laughing) "No, it looks good."

Me: (still a bit cranky) "You do know that this card will never go to you now?  I plan to save it for my NEXT husband."

Husband (laughing even harder) "I know.  Totally worth it to see the look on your face though!"

But seriously, we have a great new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday, along with a great sponsor: Simon Says Stamp!  My card uses the Tim Holz Crazy Bird 3, found here.   The prize for our winner?  A $25 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp store!

Please check out the rest of the Saturday Girls' creations here, along with the challenge details.

I hope you have time to join in the fun this week

SSW2-80: ADFD

It's another Wednesday and that means another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we are sponsored by A Day For Daisies.  Tammy is offering her usual great prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop.

I'm using Tammy's Mr. Snowman for my card.  I got this little dude as a freebie a while ago.  Her site always has one or two cool deals. Click here for her current freebies.

I had been given Penguin Play to work with (another fabulous image) but sadly, I couldn't get my printer and my computer to play nice together.

It took Mr. Computer 20 minutes to fix the problem when he got home so I feel better that it wasn't something super easy  to fix (apparently there were too many packets running ... or something like this, when he talks tech ... I just nod my head like I know EXACTLY what he means!)

Any-who, I hope that you are inspired to join us for our challenge this week.

SSS401: Doodle Pantry

It's January 5th and I was supposed to have posted a card on January 1st.  Oops.

Fortunately, in addition to having fantastic images, my boss Laurie is pretty amazing (and super understanding!)  Yikes, I seriously dropped the ball.  I don't know how I forgot that New Years Day was actually the first of the month.  Duh.

I am going to blame the cold medicine haze that I'm currently experiencing for my stupidity (er, I mean) forgetfulness.

In addition to using the Stella Says Stamp sketch, I'm using the Doodle Pantry image: Everyday Jargon.  So cute.  The inside of the card says, "Bug Me Anytime."
