SSW2: Sami Stamps

Geez, can you believe that it's the last week of January already?  Yikes.

This week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 we have an added twist AND a new sponsor: Sami Stamps.  First a bit about the challenge.  Your mission, should you chose to accept it is to pick your favorite sketch from the month and then add paper piecing.  Easy Peasy.  Our prize is $12 to spend in the Sami Stamps Etsy shop.

I chose to go with the sketch from the start of the month and even better yet, the start of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog!  I loved it's quirky squares.

Here's a bit more about Sami Stamps:

Hello! I’m so happy to be here as a Sponsor for Sweet Sketch Wednesday! Sami Stamps provides a variety of high quality Digital Stamps in both JPEG and PNG formats. I hope you enjoy crafting with Sami Stamps as much as I enjoy illustrating them!

CC&CC 57

I was just listening to the radio, advertising a grand prize of free tickets to the BIG GAME.  I started to laugh.

Despite my love of my Broncos ... given the fact that the game is outside, in New Jersey, in the winter when another Polar Vortex is predicted, I think I am quite content to watch the game in the comfort of my own home.  Hello NFL commissioner?  Perhaps next year we can think Florida, California, or Arizona for the Super Bowl?!!

My plan today is to make more cards to replenish my birthday stock.  CC&CC had a darling sketch.  Mo's blog had a theme of lots of layers and Cute Card Thursday's theme was "sweet".  Nailed it!

Get Well Soon Glenn

I needed another get well soon card to send out.  As always, Jodi's Bugaboo images are one of the first that I reach for to get the job done.

I used the sketch over at Digi Sketch Challenge.  They have a great sketch and a "man" theme.  I did both since this card is heading over to ... a man.

SSW2-04: Fresh Brewed Designs

 Hi all!

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.   Sally has cooked up a great sketch for us to work with this week.   As you can see, I rotated the sketch a bit.  Turning it seemed to work better with my image.

Heather from over at Fresh Brewed Designs is our sponsor and she's offering up three digi-images from her shop to the winner of the challenge.  I'm using her Cookie Mouse for my card this week.  I DID decide to change it from a "cookie" to a pizza so I could pair it with this darling phrase from Create with TLC.  I think it TOTALLY looks like a yummy pie.

Here's a bit more about Heather:

SSW2-03: Digistamp Boutique

I made this sweet birthday card for my darling Sister-In-Law.  It's about a week late.  Sorry doll.  At least I'm mailing it in the same month as your day ... poor Tiff's card is going out today too and her birthday was LAST month!  For someone who loves making cards as much as I do, I surely do HATE going to the post office.

It's Wednesday so that means it's also time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  Sally has a fun sketch for us to try, lots of layers.  Our sponsor this week is Sally-Ann from Digistamp Boutique.  I'm using an image from her darling Edwin and Hetty set.  This is Edwin looking VERY manly despite being on a pink card!

Pop on over to the new blog, become a follower and play along this week.  We're giving away some candy once we reach 100 followers!

SSMIS - Getting Caught Up

Apparently for ME,  our monthly challenge ought to be called the (M)issing (I)n (A)ction swap.  I got sooo far behind in 2013 that I am just finishing up December's image and then plan to start 2014 off with a new "can-do" attitude.

And with that thought in mind, here is Imke's cute January challenge.  This is Gus from Bugaboo.  Love Jodi's images.  Since Imke wants to use these for her German friends, she asked us to use German.  She even sent us some German sentiments to use but ... {hanging my head sheepishly} I lost them.  In my defense,  I did just reorganize my craft room (to make room for the new Silhouette Cameo that I got for Christmas!!)  I googled to find an appropriate phrase - hope it's OK.

I'm using the Catch The Bug Challenge sketch.  Imke is a very CAS girl so I thought that the sketch was perfect (course then I ruined the CAS effect with some WILD paper)  Oh well.  It's me!

Here is Angela's December challenge from 2013.  It's a Golden Oldie from Art Impressions.  I used the sketch from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch 201.  Unfortunately I didn't finish it in time for her sweet candy from MFT.

Oh well ... new year, can-FINISH attitude (grin)

SSW2-02 The Stamping Boutique

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have a new sketch and a new sponsor.

Tracey from The Stamping Boutique is our sponsor.  I'm using her Snowfriends digital stamp.  She is offering our winner 3 free images from her store (4 if you use a TSB image and win!)

I made 2 cards this week.  I figured ... what the heck, might as well get a jump on next year's cards.  OK, I'm going to be completely honest, I'm still sending out cards.

I'm calling them "New Year's Cards" to disguise the fact that I never finished sending out my Christmas cards.  Yeah, THAT'S what happened, I planned to send these cards out late!!

I hope YOU will be more organized and play along with us this week!

SSW 2: A Day For Daisies

Happy New Year!!

I hope your year is wonderful and full of happy surprises.  Did you stay awake long enough to ring in the new year?  I'm writing this post early so I'm not sure if I made it.  The PLAN is to watch for the AdAmAn club set off the fireworks on Pike's Peak.  Our new house has a wonderful view of the mountain so the hubs and I plan to toast in the year from our couch.  I'll let you know if I make it NEXT week.  To be completely honest, I don't think I will.  Every party has to have a pooper and I'm usually it!!  By 11:00, I'm DONE and snoozing on the couch!!

Hey, but here's something wonderful for the new year ... it's a new challenge blog.  Please join me in welcoming Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 to the block!  There will be fun challenges and even a few twists.

This week we are sponsored by Tammy and the whole gang over at A Day For Daisies.  Here's a bit more about ADFD:

A Day For Daisies has grown to over 3,000 Digital Stamps with a quickly expanding line of Best Loved Clear Polymer. A Day For Daisies has been published and awarded over the years for innovative and unique designs created to inspire the crafting community. With a whole team behind her now, she remains passionate about illustration, obsessed with quality, and dedicated to her customers. A Day For Daisies thanks you for your ideas, comments, and creativity!

This week Tammy is giving the winner a $12 gift certificate to her store.  Don't forget, in order to be considered for the grand poo-bah prize, you MUST leave a comment on the SSW2 blog.

I can't wait for the new year and all the interesting twists that Sally's NEW challenge blog will bring.  I hope you play!
