SSW 225: Eureka Stamps

Yay ... Wednesday. It's finally sunny after another rainy night.  I was just looking at my carpets, wondering who tracked in the mud but the kids are at school.  I'm thinking that I might actually be the guilty culprit  {sigh} I probably shouldn't have taken the dog to the park but I was feeling a bit housebound.  Oh well.

Over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, we have a new sketch for you AND a new sponsor.  Eureka Stamps is our sponsor this week.  I loved the wild variety I found in the Eureka store.  There were pretty flowers and wildly funny images.  Of course, I went for this snarky image.  I am soooo not a morning person!  Here's  little more about Eureka stamps:

Finally, The Stamps You've been Looking for! Eureka Stamps offers a large variety of images and sentiments in many different categories for all of your stamping needs. Our Paper Sculpting stamps add an extra dimension to your creations. Or, Mix and match our Balloons and Balloon Holders to celebrate every occasion. Our Stamps are available as unmounted, deep etched, natural red rubber stamps OR as digital stamps. If Eureka Stamps aren't exactly what you are looking for, Don't miss out on the sister companies: QKR Stampede, Biblical Impressions Rubber Stamps, or the newest addition; Alluring Impressions.

Our prize this week is 5 digi images from the Eureka store!  Wow!  So get going on your creation and don't forget to comment after you upload.

TMS 216

Happy Fall everyone!

I loved the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week and since I am seriously short on Christmas cards ... I knew that I had to play (and make it a Christmas card at that!)

This is one of my absolutely FAVORITE stamp sets from Stampin' Up.  I think it's called Snow Angels.  It's one of those that I would take to a deserted island if I was ever stranded.

Thanks for stopping by ...

SSSC193

As soon as I saw this From the Heart image I knew that it was only a matter of time before he WOULD be mine!  I bought it initially thinking I would save him to use for a congratulatory card for my sister.  She's working toward getting her Black Belt in December. (Yay)  Buuuuut, I couldn't wait to use him.

This week's Sweet Sunday sketch over on Karen Giron's blog was so darn cute that I whipped him out to use.  I think he turned out darling!

I also wanted to show you what Mr. Sitting On Pens did over the weekend.

Waaaaay back in December I bought this ribbon carrier from Michael's so my new craft room would be organized.  After I built the darn thing (OK, if you really want honesty, I made Mr. Blog and my uncle do it ... but I was in the room)  Anyway once it was together, I was ... let's go with the word "irritated" but understand that I was a bit crankier than that when I realized that the included dowels would not fit my SU ribbon rolls.  In fact, out of the billions of ribbon rolls I own, those (er) darn dowels fit only 2 of them.  TWO!!

So off I went to another craft store to purchase smaller dowels.  These I painted to match the holder... but I have sooo much ribbon that the new dowel whimpered and cracked almost immediately.  Seriously?!!

Finally, after listening to me complain ... a lot,  Mr. Blog went to the hardware store and got me some iron re-bar.  He cut it and installed it. Yay.  What a guy!

Here's the ribbon rack all ready for use.  Now here's my secret confession ... all those containers STILL don't have all my ribbon ...

I MAY have a ribbon problem

Happy Wednesday!

Once again, it's time for a sketch challenge from the folks over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  This week we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Sally-Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique.  I used her Murphy 1, a set with three darling images.

The prize this week is six digital images from Sally-Ann's shop.  I hope that you have a chance to head on over to the blog this week, and join in the fun!

I'll be entering this card in the monthly DigiStamp Boutique blog customer competition.

From the Heart/SSMIS-September

For this month's Secret Sister Mystery Image we were given two images to use.  One if you love summer and another to use  if you wanted to "vote" for Fall.   Although I chose to use the "Cool Cat" Hambo image,  let me tell you that I am soo NOT picking Summer as my favorite season.  Blah, I hate being hot.  I will admit to liking the laziness of summer.  Besides, this little cat is easily one of my favorite images.

I'm using the sketch from this week's From the Heart challenge.  It's a cute one.  To see what the rest of the SSMIS gang did with the images, check out the gallery.

SSW223: A Day For Daisies

I'm feeling kinda old today.  My second youngest niece turned 18 a few days ago and is off to college and real life.  For some reason, it has thrown me for a loop.  I will probably COMPLETELY lose it when the youngest goes to college.  It will not be pretty Cassie; I'm just warning you now!  I made this card for Meaghan's birthday.  Happy happy day sweetie.

It's also Wednesday so you know what THAT means, it's time for another challenge brought to you from the folks over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

This week we have Tammy from A Day For Daisies as our sponsor.   ADFD provides themed categories of over 1,000 fun and whimsical digital images.  These include magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!

Tammy's generous prize is a $12 gift certificate to her store!

You can find the links to her store here:

SSW222: Broken Box

We're having a bit of a relaxing weekend this week.  We had our normal 3-day weekend to celebrate Labor Day but then got an additional day off from school for a teacher workday.  Gotta admit that when you have that many relaxing days, you lose track of what day it is!!  Today's Wednesday, right?!

Colorado Springs has a balloon festival over Labor Day so that's always fun to go to the various events of the weekend.  There is a pancake breakfast that the city's firefighters put on, and then the lift-off of the balloons on Saturday morning (usually miss that one ... the 4:00 AM wake-up is too early for this girl!  My picture here was snagged from my friend Denise's FB page ... she's a better mom than me and hoists her behind out of bed to take her kids while I slumber!  Wonder if she'll take MY kids next year.  Kidding!)

My FAVORITE event of the weekend is the balloon glow at night.  It is gorgeous!  This is a picture from last year because we had planned to go Sunday but it was cancelled because of all the rain we had this weekend.  Booo!

But the point of this post is to talk about the challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  This week our sponsor is Broken Box Designs, a fun, imaginative and unique clip-art shop featuring hand-drawn illustrations and digital stamps by Wendy Sefcik.

The prize up for grabs is a $5 gift certificate to be spent in  the Broken Box Design etsy shop.

We hope that you will get sketchy with us. Don't forget to comment after you upload your card so you are eligible to win the prize.
