It's the last day of the month ... and so I have to go back to using pre-determined images, but I wanted to show you one last card I made using my NEW Art Impression images. How freakin' cute is this guy? You can't tell from the picture but his hand wobbles back and forth!
It's my sister's birthday in a few days and I wanted to make a card especially for her. She is THE biggest UofA Wildcat fan. She will watch football, baseball, softball, basketball, you name it (in fact, I'm pretty sure if they had a competitive marble team she would watch the games!)
Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog. I rotated the sketch so it would be perfect for my image. I'm also participating in the embossing challenge over on Dragonfly Journeys. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the red is embossed with stars.

My kids are cranky with me because I just made them go outside to play. Before he went out, the oldest tried the "It's hot" argument (it's 81 with clouds ... sooo not hot) and I had to restrain myself because it was on the tip of my tongue to say: "When I was your age, it was 110 in the shade!" I did tell them that they only had to stay outside for an hour (sigh). The wusses.
I just bought a whole bunch of AI stamps and finally had some free time to play with them. I bought this spinner image and had NO IDEA how to make a spinner card so I had to research a bit.
There are a ton of images of finished cards but very few really good tutorials. I found this one on Pinterest if you are at all interested in making one yourself. Her coloring technique is pretty amazing, I didn't fast forward once (which is pretty unusual for me)!
You can see the movement this kind of card has with this picture. -----}
Some things I learned making my card:
- If I had to do it again, I'd probably buy the dies. Cutting her out was painful.
- I probably should have matched the thread color to my background. The white thread bugs me.
- If you have a lot to say in your card ... this probably isn't the card to make. You can't write on the inside of your card!
kitten mini spinner that AI has in stock now!
I'm using the sketch from over on the Paper Players' site. It totally worked for this card.
Thanks for stopping by

My favorite day of the week!! On THIS day, I get to sleep in and caffeinate myself as often as I like! Speaking of caffeine and exciting things ... it's time for another challenge over on the Sketch Saturday site. We have the fabulous Jodie from Bugaboo as our sponsor.
Tidbits of Consciousness. Jodie is offering up her usual fabulous prize: 9 FREE images (yes, nine!)
I hope that you will join in the fun this week.

Popping in to show you a card that I made for my Mother-In-Law. It turned out awfully cute (if I do say so myself!) And look at me, being all organized for her birthday next Tuesday!
I'm using an image from Doodle Pantry called Betta Fish and Bowl. This set reminds me of my college days when my roommate came home with 4 of these fish and we (stupidly) put them all in one bowl. Over the course of the week, Moby Dick, Filet O' Fish, and Sushi all died because of Mike (we ran out of cute names). Mike flourished, after ridding the bowl of his competition, and lasted quite a long time. Oh Mike ... how I miss you!
And hey, speaking of cute images, Laurie will have some new images for us next month! Yay.

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Sweet SketchWednesday 2.This week we have Dearie Dolls as our sponsor. Run over to her blog and grab an image to play with for our challenge. They are free and seriously, who doesn't like free?!!
I'm using Mary Ellen's image: Poinsettia Snowman for my card. I thought that I would get a start on my Christmas cards.
Everyone is a winner this week over on Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Come on, join in the fun.

One of my favorite sketch challenge sites, Tuesday Morning Sketches, had a fun sketch this week. I know that you will be STUNNED to learn that I still have cards to finish for tomorrow's holiday!! And since the TMS sponsor is also one of my favorites: Bugaboo. It was a sign to join in the fun.
I'm using one of Jodie's images; it's called Kidz-Dad Boy. It's super cute but it would have been better with two boys on the image (since I have two boys) but, it still works.
I hope YOUR boy has a good holiday tomorrow.

Midway through the month (can you believe it?) and btw, Happy Flag Day yesterday. I hope you got out to celebrate. We had a day of torrential rain so ... no outside celebration here. Lightning hit the building where my youngest was having Lego Camp so I was pretty happy to get us all home without anyone dying from electrocution!
Today I want to show you another card featuring Doodle Pantry. We are sponsoring the challenge over on the Inspiration Destination blog. Their challenge is Anything Goes. Pretty easy-peasy. I used one of the images in the Autumn Critters set and just colored it to make it look summery instead.
I hope you join the fun.

and that means it's time for another challenge over on the Sketch Saturday blog. This week, we are sponsored by Simon says Stamp. They are providing our winner with a $25 gift certificate to the store. Wow.
I'm using a From the Heart birdbrain chick for my card this week. I can honestly say that I own nearly all of these cute little critters. Love them!
We hope that you will join in the sketch fun this week.

I'm banging out my "freebie" image cards. The first card uses the new From The Heart progressive image.
I colored it up to match the kids and my favorites. Oldest likes a plain ol' ice-cream sundae (as long as there is coffee ice cream inside somewhere) though he hates cherries and I take one for the team and eat his cherry ... seriously, how can you NOT like maraschino cherries?
I like mint chocolate chip ice cream so that's the middle one. The youngest likes all sorts of sherbet and bubble gum ice-cream. (Insert shudder of disgust!) Frozen bubble gum is just wrong!
The other card I made features the Gerda Steiner freebie. It's this darling penguin going on a picnic. He at least has healthy food choices in HIS basket.
I used the sketch from the Mojo Monday site but altered it by rotating the sketch so it would fit the image better.
Welcome back to another Wednesday challenge over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog. This week we have a fun new sketch and the return of Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.
This time I used the Spring Truffle set for my card. This set is seriously cute. It comes with not one but TWO super cute images. Sally-Ann is offering our winner a £10 voucher to her store.
I really DO hope to see you join in the fun.

I needed a quick card for a friend and this little cutie fit the bill. While digging through my "ginormous" pile of images, I found this darling pre-colored mouse. Score! Cute AND quick.
He's from the Doodle Pantry "Quirky" series. His official name is Quirky Mouse. To see him and other cute and quirky animals, simply visit the Doodle Pantry store.
Sketch Aunt site. Fun sketch and so easy to use.

It's June and Summer is officially here!! I say this as I sit in my basement wearing jeans with a fleece over my cute Summery shirt. There is supposed to be warmth included with Summer, people. Tho, I suppose if you give me three weeks, I'll probably be whining about the heat!!
Because it's the first of the month, we have another digital challenge over on the Doodle Pantry blog. As always, it's an anything goes challenge. Remember, you must use a digital image on your card. I'm using one of my favorite Doodle Pantry images: Birdie on a Wire.
Tuesday Morning Sketches site. I did make it a square instead of a rectangle ... because I can't resist changing things up.
I'm participating in the following challenges too
Dragonfly Journeys: Polka Party
Try It On A Tuesday: Dots, Spots, and Splashes.
