SSW217: MilkCoffee Stamps
Happy Wednesday.
It is my favorite kind of day today. It's drizzling rain and is a yummy 68 degrees here ... a welcome respite from our high 90 summer temps. I can almost imagine that my favorite season, Fall, is nearby. I can't wait for this chilly holiday-laden time!
This week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday we have a fun new sketch and the return of Esmeralda and Nathaza from MilkCoffee Stamps. Our prize this week is 3 free digital stamps from the MilkCoffee shop. Hope that you will play along. Don't forget to comment or you won't be eligible to win our prize. Here's a bit more about our sponsor:
MilkCoffee Stamps is a digital image shop specialized in cute and girly images. There are 2 people behind this shop, Esmeralda and Nathaza. We are best buddies from our childhood with a common thing that we love so much: drawing. What we try to do is drawing various styles that suits different kind of tastes, so a lot of people with different style can still play along with our image for their cards.

Don't Be A Beach - #162
I could SOOO use a vacation to a beach, sipping a drink with a little umbrella. I hear Bora Bora is nice this time of year. Sadly, I will have to make due with the backyard, getting wet from my kids running through the sprinkler and the dog helping herself to my iced tea. Sooo not the same!
I'm making another card for SSMIS. This card is actually ON-TIME!! Woot, woot!! Tracie was our July hostess and she challenged us with this Dearie Dolls image and those amazing little chipboard sunglasses. I created a little beach scene with my dies and copics.
I started out using the Try Stamping on a Tuesday sketch but deviated from it ... a tad as you can see!
Challenges:
Opus Gluei: Don't Be A Beach #162
Creative Card Crew #41 dominate pink or blue

Thinking of Ben
Unfortunately, I have a friend who is going through a rough time right now. I've been thinking about her all weekend to tell you the truth. So I wanted to send a card to let HER know how often she's come to mind since Friday.
The image was given to me by my friend Imke for our Image challenge ... in January. I know, I'm horribly late but in my defense, I HAD just moved. I'm working hard to get caught up. I'd like to say that I lost the note which told of her challenge but I didn't. I just chose to not do it. Imke challenged us to be clean and simple in our card. This card ... is neither. I hate doing them, they are sooo NOT me. In the end, I decided to give myself free rein. Yay!!

SSW216-149 Paper Addictions
Yep.
It's a bright one isn't it? What can I say, I was going for the look of the Mexican flag.
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This week I'm pleased to say that Jacqueline Mathews from Paper Addictions has returned to sponsor us. I love her quirky images. I used her "moochas gracias" cow image. Here's a bit more about her:
My name is Jacqueline Mathews and I am a crafter and designer. I love paper, pens, doodling, stamping and above all designing. I have a degree in fine arts with an emphasis in graphic design. I worked in the graphic design industry for many years and quit 15 years ago to become a stay at home mom for my 3 kids. Now that the kids are older and don’t need me as much, I am reinventing myself and have decided that I wanted to create my own line of digital stamps. I have dabbled in rubber stamping and became a “Stampin’ up!” demonstrator and had a blast, but thought it would be more fun to create my own stamps. I decided digital was the way to go. It is affordable for the customer and for the designer. I now have a digital stamp shop on Etsy called “PaperAddictions”. I would love to create my own line of rubber stamps someday, but for now I am testing my designs out in my shop to see if anyone likes them. I am pleasantly surprised that I have gotten a good response to the images I have designed so far. This positive response has motivated me to create more images in the future.
The sketch is a blast from the past. If you would like to see what the designers did with it last time, click here. We'd love to see what YOU can do with this sketch. Don't forget to comment so you are eligible to win the awesome prize of any 5 items from the Paper Addictions shop!!

SSW215: DigiStamp Boutique
Happy Wednesday.
We have had SUCH a busy week. Monday was my 13th wedding anniversary. And then on Friday my youngest turns 8. Yikes. How did THAT happen? Last time I checked, he was still a little guy.
I've had lots of company visiting this week and the crowning achievement of the week will be the Lego party with 12 boys (and 3 girls) running around like crazy people!
But ... enough about my crazy life! It's time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are once again sponsored by Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique. I used another image from her "Funtime Dan" set. There are 4 images in this set and they are ALL amazing. So far I've used two of the images in the collection and I can't wait to feature them all.
The prize this week is six digital images from Sally-Ann's shop. I really DO hope that you have a chance to join in the fun.

Mojo Monday 302
Today is my anniversary.
And the only reason that I "remembered" is that my sister-in-law sent a text congratulating me. I called my husband to see if HE remembered.
Me: "Hey, did you remember that it's our anniversary?"
Him: [silence]
Me: "I didn't either so don't panic."
Him: "I never panic ... I was just preparing my words carefully."
Sooo, I don't actually HAVE an anniversary card to show. I had already planned a birthday card so I could participate in TPE's feminine birthday theme. I'll be back later to share with you the "I'm the dork who forgot her own anniversary" card!!
Challenges:

SSW 214: A Day For Daisies
I have company coming in T-4 hours. I SHOULD be doing what this image is doing (cleaning, not primping) but I don't feel the slightest interest in doing that. So I think that I will just sit here, surfing blogs and sipping my hot tea until I am suddenly motivated. Usually that occurs when I hear the doorbell ring!
It's Wednesday so you know what THAT means, it's time for another challenge brought to you from the folks over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Sally's sketch was an instant hit with me. It's elegant and VERY easy to use. I think that you will love it too.
This week we have Tammy from A Day For Daisies as our sponsor. ADFD provides themed categories of over 1,000 fun and whimsical digital images. These include magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions! Tammy's generous prize is a $12 gift certificate to her store! Yay! So let's get out there and play!!

Stella Says "Stamp!" 139
What a lazy weekend we've had this holiday weekend!! We played a lot of family games, read, watched movies and I did some cleaning and crafting.
I love Bugaboo and so when I saw the Stella Says Stamp sketch from the Bugaboo site, I knew that I had to play. I need a card to send to my crafting partner. We sold our first quilt on our etsy store and I wanted to give her a "yay - yippee" card. I totally CASEd the idea for this card idea from The Spotted Chick. I love her work.
The SSS sketch was really clean and simple. I totally struggle with CAS sketches!! Even as I made this card, I considered sparkles and maybe another layer or two. But I refrained (sorta)!

SSW213: Clearly Digi Stamps
Happy (almost) Fourth of July!!
This year, because of the recent forest fires, there will be no fireworks in our area. Boo-hoo. We've decided to spend our long weekend finishing a buncha house projects (we have family coming next week) and watching movies. Not terribly exciting but not all holidays can be (or so I've been told by my husband).
BUT ... fortunately, the sketch challenges from Sweet Sketch Wednesday are ALWAYS exciting and fun!! Sally's sketch is just squares but I had a great time with it. It is definitely one that I will re-use.
This week we have a new sponsor: It's Lori from the Clearly Digi Stamps team (formerly Clear Dollar Stamps) and does she ever have a great prize for you all .... a $25 gift certificate to the Clearly Digi Stamps store in the digi section! Holy cow!!
Here's a bit more about Lori and Clearly Digi Stamps
Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar
Stamps) is a home-based business run by moms! Located in Pleasant
Hope, Missouri, we run the main operations out of Lori's
basement. We have illustrators from all over the United States and
join forces to bring you the a variety of styles and images at
incredibly affordable prices. We believe that the value we put in
our Digi sets are above and beyond what you will find at many other
stores....and we want it to be that way. As moms, budgets are many
times very limited, but we still need our creative outlet too!
Enjoy!
So get out there and start playing people!
