SSW2-ADFD: "P is for Purple"

It's Wednesday (tho frankly it feels like Tuesday ... these 3-day weekends throw ALL my days off!)

I hope you had a lovely holiday.  We did; spent much of the weekend in Denver going to kid-stuff.  We did the Denver Butterfly Pavilion and got our bug on.  They have lots of bugs: spiders, cockroaches (shudder) and of course, butterflies to see and handle.  Fun place.

Since it's Wednesday (really, it is) it's time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  Our sponsor is A Day For Daisies. We have a throw-back sketch this week but ... there is a twist.  Your card must have purple on it!

I used the image Fairy Dog 3 for my card.  Cute image.  You can find him and many other fun ones over at the ADFD shop.  There is a $12 prize to use over in the shop this week!  Lots to choose from.

We hope you join in!

Sentimental Sundays: Thanks Chickie

Happy Memorial Day to my US friends!

We don't have much planned for our holiday, just some relaxing and maybe a BBQ with the neighbors.

Today Sentimental Sundays is sponsored by Doodle Pantry so I thought that I would join in the fun.  I'm using the chick from the Spring Critters, in the April Release.  There is a pretty great sale going on this weekend.  It is 3 days only (through the 26th).  On your shopping cart purchases over $2.00, you can receive 40% off (this does exclude gift certificates and can not be combined with any other coupon).  Time to stock up on some of the new releases.  Your coupon code is MEMDAY2014

I used the sketch from over at Pals Paper Arts.  I am entering the following challenges:
Pals Paper Arts: Sketch
Sister Act Card Challenge: Anything Goes
Sweet Pea Stampers: Things with Wings

From The Heart 67 and Jenny

I am losing my babysitter.

And as sad as I am about that, I am also so excited to see what this beautiful girl goes out and accomplishes.  I have known her for so many years ...watching her change from the little girl who played with my babies to the mature teenager who set the standard for ALL babysitters who enter my house.  Frankly, we think that she puts the "zing" in AMAZING!

I made this card to celebrate her graduation.  I used the sketch over at From the Heart ... mostly!  I left off the last circle.  I DID do the tic-tac-toe so I completed the challenge.  I used the middle row: stitching, a digital stamp and buttons.

I'm also entering the challenge over at Crafting for all Seasons.  Their theme is "things with wings."

SSW2-15: DigiStamp Boutique

Happy Wednesday my friends!

It's time for another sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have Sally-Ann over at DigiStamp Boutique as our sponsor.  Yay.  Love her images.  I'm using her cute Karate Sammy for my card.

When I started making this card, I knew that I didn't want to use flowers for the required embellishments.  I rarely put flowers on cards; I don't know why since I admire them on other people's cards.  Any-who ... I kept thinking that I wanted to continue the oriental theme I had going.  So off I went to the Silhouette site to see if they had kanji cut-outs.  Yes, they do!  This particular one means "Peace."  It kinda amused me since he looks like he is getting ready to kick the peace sign.

Sally-Ann is offering her usual super prize of a £10 voucher to the winner this week.  We hope you stop by to play!

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
DigiStamp Boutique blog: use a DSB image
Challenges 4 Everyone: Anything Goes
Glitter 'n Sparkle: Manly

Doodle Pantry: Peace

I have just finished signing my kiddos up for all their summer activities ... and I'm thinking that between the Science Camp, Gifted Camp, Archery classes, Baseball and Karate classes we are going to be a tad busy.  Like stupid busy.  {{sigh}} Idiot, summer is for relaxing!

I made a card for one of my friends, to let her know that even though we are far apart, I am thinking of her.  I used the sketch from over at STAMPlorations.  It was pretty cute and perfect for this image!

I'm using one of the "critters" from Doodle Pantry's Spring Critters set.  Love this little beaver.  The inside reads: "dam glad we are friends"

I am also entering this for the QKR Stampede challenge of gems or rhinestones.

SSW2-14: Broken Box Designs

I have NEVER pro-craft-inated.

I think that I just heard my hubby choke on his laughter.  So now that the giggling is over, I can admit to doing it ALL the time.  I actually have a sign in my house that admits to JUST that.  So when I saw this TLC freebie, I knew that I had to have it.

Since it's Wednesday, it's time for another sketch from Sally over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we’re featuring Broken Box Designs!

Wendy is the creator of the fun images there and we’ve had a fun time creating with them this week. The Grand Prize winner of this week’s challenge will receive a $5 Gift Certificate from Broken Box – a terrific prize! Thanks Wendy for your generous support of our challenge!

Please visit Wendy at either
Her store

We hope you pop over and participate this week.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun

Today Doodle Pantry is the sponsor over at the Open-Minded Crafting Fun.  Their challenge this week is to use ribbon.  Since I do love me my ribbon, this was something of a no-brainer for me.  Heck yeah I'll meet your challenge!!

I'm using one of the new release images over at Doodle Pantry.  It's called Carousel Horse #4.  The cool thing is that with any purchase you can receive Laurie's Buffalo and Caribou images absolutely free!

I used Stella's sketch over at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  It was a fun one.  Of course, I couldn't leave well enough alone ... I had to alter it a tiny bit!

From the Heart #65

We started the day with snow and it's progressed to thunder and rainstorms.  The perfect weather to cuddle down in my art studio and just craft ... (insert happy sigh!)

Since this week is teacher and nurse appreciation week, I have spent quite a bit of time creating cards to let my friends know that they ARE 'ppreciated!  This one is going to the youngest's teacher.  She is a peach.  Love her!  I have two more cards to get done before 8:30 tomorrow. (insert stressed out sigh)

I used the sketch from over at From the Heart.   They have a twist of 1 ribbon, 2 DP and 3 embellishments.  I NEARLY twisted ... just couldn't find a place for the ribbon.

SSW2-13: Meljen's Designs

Hiya peeps.

I'm exhausted and sadly, it is ONLY Wednesday.  Last week we only had a three day work week and so when I woke up, I was a little sad to realize that we still have 2 more days in this week ((whimper)).  Thankfully, there is not much longer for school.  Unfortunately, I signed the kiddos up for Science Camp beginning in June and that starts at 8:00 ... rather like school huh?!!

Since it's Wednesday,  that means it's time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  When I first saw Sally's sketch I was a bit overwhelmed.  That's a whole 'lotta' something going on on the card, huh?!!  But I DO like how my card turned out so all my whining was for nothing!  I needed a baby card so the inside reads, "Congratulations on your new little monkey." All my phrases are computer generated.  I love how versatile digi-images are!

Melissa from Meljen's Designs is our sponsor.  I love her images.  So cute and sooo many options to choose from.  She's offering 4 uncolored images as the prize this week.

Hope to see you playing this week.

Doodle Pantry May Release

Happy May Day!

It's the first day of May and time for a new release of products over at Doodle Pantry.  Wow, has Laurie outdone herself!  I have to say that there is some GREAT new stuff available over at her shop.

I picked out these little cuties, Summer Song Birdies and then paired it with a phrase from Carousel Zebra.

Each set comes with colored version of the images and paper.  These make for super fast cards, helpful for those moments when time is an issue.

Run over to the shop and see for yourself what's new!
