SSW2: Dearie Dolls 217
Raise your hand if you can't believe May is almost here. Holy cow, where did April go? But in addition to being the last day of the month, it's also Wednesday so that means it's time for another sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.
Being the last Wednesday of the month, Sally has a sketch AND a twist. This week we are playing crafty tic-tac-toe. I went right down the center for my choices: stitching, design paper and jewels. It was kind of a no-brainer since 99% of my cards have DP! Looking at my card, I have to say that in hindsight, I should have stitched BEFORE I put the ribbon on!! The ribbon looks puffy! {{Sigh}} but it's a bit too late to fix that little problem now. I'm blaming sleep deprivation for my poor choices!
Our sponsor is Mary Ellen from Dearie Dolls. The great thing about this is that there is the fun of shopping for new images right away. All her images are FREE. Don't forget to leave her a bit of love when you download her images!
Hope to see you play this week!

From the Heart - April
Not gonna lie ... This was not an image that screamed "use me!" (Thus explaining my nearly missing the deadline to use this image!) It's pretty and I love flowers. I buy them to have in my house all the time and love all the hard work my hubby does to make our yard bloom ... but flowers as images on cards? Nope.
I really liked the sketch over at From the Heart this week so I thought I would kill two birds with one
stone.

Eat Cake Graphics - Diets
I am sooo with Granny Gertz, dieting is not fun (especially when there are cupcakes AND sprinkles involved) As soon as I saw the "diet" phrase from over at Eat Cake Graphics, I knew that I had to have it. I love me my sprinkles. The kids are always amazed when I chose to ONLY put sprinkles on my frozen yogurt (unlike my youngest who tries to put nearly every topping they have on his!)
I'm using the April sketch over at Kraftyhands Challenge Blog. Lots of different shapes to use; it proved to be challenging indeed!

MMIS-April
This month's hostess was Patti. She chose this charming Heather Ellis image. Her challenge was to put something "Spring-y" in the tree. I thought about butterflies, but that is one small tree! There was no way I was going to be able to cut a butterfly THAT small!! Soo, I settled for gems to represent buds.
I decided to make Patti's card a "I miss you" card. She has some awfully cute grandkiddos in Arizona and she can probably needs a few cards to remind them how much grandma loves them.
Fun challenge Patti!

SSW 2: Just Some Lines
Happy Easter (OK, three days after, anyway). I hope you had a nice holiday. Ours was fantastic. We just had my MIL over. The kids enjoyed hunting for the eggs. We had a panicky few minutes when we couldn't find the last three eggs. Hubby was giving me the "so where DID you hide them?" look over the kids' heads and I was completely flummoxed.
Heck, I can barely remember where I put them 10 seconds after they
leave my hands! It wasn't until we had the kids re-count the eggs that
we determined that all eggs had been found.
I am so glad that you could come join us for another sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. This week Sally has given us another fantastic sketch to work with; there is quite a bit to it. I rotated the sketch this week.
Our sponsor is a new one, Just Some Lines. The shops stocks whimsical art work created by its owner Jehanne, who creates and adds new artwork regularly into her shops when not doing school runs, illustrating children books or running after sheep.
We hope you find time to play.

Eat Cake Graphics
I'm back with another cutie from Eat Cake Graphics. This is Feathers. Is he not the cutest panicked bird that you have EVER seen?
This week Delicious Doodles is challenging us to use pink for breast cancer awareness. Since it's a cause that has touched my life I wanted to participate.
I'm using the sketch over at Just Add Ink. If you squint and tilt your head to the left, I'm sure that you'll agree with me that I NAILED this sketch!

Creative Knockouts
Today Doodle Pantry sponsors Creative Knockouts and I really wanted to participate. Their challenge is "Furry Friends." I figured that this little guy certainly qualifies as furry and since he's obviously sewn, counts as a friend (Can't say that I'd want a REAL bear as a friend).
I used the sketch from over at Sketchy Colors. It was pretty fun.
I'm also participating in the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays: Embossing
The Squirrel and the Fox: All Creatures Great and Small

SSW2-DigiStamp Boutique
Oh what wacky weather Colorado has. Started the week with snow and now we're headed to the 60s. Yay, just in time for our annual Easter Egg hunt and picnic. Though I'm gonna have to admit that this IS one of the few years that we've been able to do both OUTSIDE!
Once again, it's time for a sketch
challenge from the folks over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.
This week we are once again sponsored by Sally-Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique.
I'm using her For You Quacky. I saw the wonderful things my teamies did with this image last month and HAD to have him. I used a phrase from my other DT, Doodle Pantry. The phrase was just too perfect. I had to pair them up!
The sketch this week is brand new this week and our prize this week is six digital images from Sally-Ann's shop. I hope that you have a chance to head on over to the blog this week, and join in the fun.

Stick it Down Tuesday
Happy Friday.
I for one am downright EXCITED for the coming weekend. A time to sleeeeeep! The rotten hubby scheduled a tune-up for his car at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Really? What part of sleep-in does he not get?!!
Oh well. I'm back to share another card made with some images from the April Release over at Doodle Pantry. Cute stuff huh? Here's the crazy thing .... this image is FREE right now. Yep, you heard me right. You have until the 24th to find something amazing over on the blog (and really, how hard is that?) and this set can be yours for FREE!
I used the sketch from over on the Stick it Down Tuesday website. I loved it's clean lines.

SSW2: Fresh Brewed Designs
Welcome to Wednesday, friends.
I'm sick this week ... there is no pep in my step. I'm hoping that if I pour enough tea into me I will start to feel better. Lady Grey, Chai and Chamomile need to pick up the pace because I am still lacking perk. Ugh.
We're revisiting favorite sketches over at SSW2. This one is a throwback to our Sweet Sketch Wednesday days, August of 2013 to be exact. If you want to see what I did then, go check it out. Apparently I REALLY like cord because unknowingly, I did it again!
Our sponsor is Heather from Fresh Brewed Designs. She's offering 3 free digis to the winner of our challenge.
Here's a bit more about Heather:

Hello, I am Heather Dennis, the owner
and artist at Fresh Brewed Designs.
I love and do all I can to put God
first in my life. I am so blessed beyond all I deserve. I have an
amazing husband who supports and loves me more than anything. We
lead praise and worship together in church. I love hearing him sing.
I home school two of the best kids in the world. They are my heart.
I can't even describe how much they mean to me. I LOVE all things
crafty. I have been crafting and creating since as early as I can
remember. We would love for you to visit our blog and Facebook page,
where fresh ideas are always percolating.

OWH: Doodle Pantry Sponsorship
I have to admit ...
I had never heard of Operation Write Home (OWH). But after spending 45 minutes perusing their site learning about glitter (bad) and sneeze (I don't do), I was sold on the idea. I had never thought about sending cards to heroes over seas but what a fantastic idea!
Although I did make a card using their sketch, this card is staying home ... unfortunately it doesn't meet their size criteria. I need to start printing my digis a bit smaller so I can send cards to OWH. I will be making a similar card to send to MY hero in Afghanistan. He probably needs a a few cards and I'll be tucking these in with his snacks.
This week OWH is sponsored by Doodle Pantry. I used Laurie's "Petite Boutique." This gorgeous digi comes with lots of sentiments and several sheets of beautiful digital papers. I used the colored digi. So quick to make a card with these. Right now, you can get her "Cute Cake" digi FREE with any purchase. Hurry over, you only have until April 24th to get both sets at the reduced price.

FTH 60: Stayin' Strong
I wanted to participate in the From the Heart sketch challenge ... I really did. I liked the sketch a lot, but somewhere in the middle of creating, things went awry.
When I tried to add the bunting thingees, it looked stupid and then I strayed. So ... I sorta did the sketch and there is no glitter on my card. Problem is, I have a person in mind for this card and I felt that the message was more important than the sketch.
My friend and I are both affected with a chronic disease. The constant demands of routines, medicine, doctors, and idiots in the insurance industry who are more concerned about the "bottom line" rather than our health are mentally draining. She's having a flare-up and I wanted to send something to let her know that I'm thinking about her.

SSW2-219: Bugaboo
Happy Wednesday Peeps:
It's only Wednesday but I'm already gunning for the weekend. Yikes, what a busy time of the year this is for me with both oldest son and hubby's birthday (not to mention Spring Break vacation and finishing up Science Fair projects!)
Because of the craziness of my life right now, I gotta say that JJ's image appealed to me this week. I plan to send this card off to a friend whose life is even crazier.
We're having a blast to the past sketch week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. We've had so many great sketches over at the Sweet Sketch blog, why NOT take another look at some of them?!!
We are once again hosted by the fabulous Jodi over at Bugaboo. She is giving out her usual amazing 7 free digi images to the winner of our challenge. Come on, you know you want to play ...

Doodle Pantry April Release
It's no April Fool's day joke, it REALLY is time for the April release over at Doodle Pantry. There are so many wonderful digital sets, papers and SVG e-cuttable shapes, you're bound to find something to love!
I fell in love with "Jiggles the Giraffe" and had to share her with you today. She comes as both line art and color and has great sentiments to go with it. If you find yourself looking for something to do, a new challenge goes live over at the Doodle Pantry Release and Challenge blog today at noon.
I'm using Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I liked it's simplicity.
I'm also entering this card over at Challenges for Everyone. They have an Anything Goes theme.
