SSW: 199-Paper Addictions

Whoops, sorry for the late post but we are in the midst of Spring Break and I just plumb forgot that it was Wednesday!

We had a ton of snow and it made the hubby freaked out to travel so we are having a stay-cation.  That means movies, museums and lots of lazy days to sleeping in (OK, it's only 7:30 but sadly that is sleeping in here).  Despite the snow we're having fun and I've had lots free time to craft.  Yippee!

Since it IS Wednesday, it means it's time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  This week we have a new sponsor: Jacqueline Mathews from Paper Addictions.  Here's a bit more about her:

My name is Jacqueline Mathews and I am a crafter and designer. I love paper, pens, doodling, stamping and above all designing. I have a degree in fine arts with an emphasis in graphic design. I worked in the graphic design industry for many years and quit 15 years ago to become a stay at home mom for my 3 kids. Now that the kids are older and don’t need me as much, I am reinventing myself and have decided that I wanted to create my own line of digital stamps. I have dabbled in rubber stamping and became a “Stampin’ up!” demonstrator and had a blast, but thought it would be more fun to create my own stamps. I decided digital was the way to go. It is affordable for the customer and for the designer. I now have a digital stamp shop on Etsy called “PaperAddictions”. I would love to create my own line of rubber stamps someday, but for now I am testing my designs out in my shop to see if anyone likes them. I am pleasantly surprised that I have gotten a good response to the images I have designed so far. This positive response has motivated me to create more images in the future.

The sketch was really fun to work with, and I got to use the enormous circles that I bought a million years ago.  Our prize this week is 5 items from the Paper Addictions store.  We'd love to see you play this week!!

SSW198: Digistamp Boutique

It's Wednesday again and that means it's time for another sketch challenge from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog!

This week our sponsor is Sally-Ann from Digistamp Boutique.  She has some GREAT new images just in time for Easter.  I chose "Easter Dog".  Isn't he the cutest?!!  I feel that same way when confronted with a chocolate Easter bunny!

A little more from Sally-Ann:  My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too - often the inspiration for my designs. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy creating.

Sally-Ann is offering up 6 free digis as the prize this week.

The sketch this week is fun and really flexible.  We hope to see YOUR contribution to the blog this week!

SSW196-67: A Day For Daisies

Hooray ... it's the middle of the week.  I am SO ready for Spring Break (well, I'm ready for summer and the beach to be COMPLETELY honest!) This has been our wettest, snowiest winter in a long time and yet, the city is STILL saying that we will have water restrictions during the summer.  Crazy.

This is such a busy month for us here.  It's the end of Basketball season, St. Patrick's day (and a bake sale ... gotta make 2 dozen cake pops for that) Spring Break, Easter, AND two birthdays this month.  Yikes.  Can you believe that my oldest will be 10 this year?  Kids grow up too fast.

This week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, we have another great sketch and we welcome back A Day For Daisies as our sponsor.  I love her images; they are so sweet.  I chose this little cutie because he satisfied my desire for the lazy days of summer.  Can you tell that I finally got my sewing machine fixed?  I think I've sewed on my last three cards.  I love that look.

A Day For Daisies provides themed categories of over 1000 fun and whimsical digital images, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!

This week's prize is a $12 credit to the A Day for Daisies store.  We'd love to see your sketch and have you play along with us this week.

SSW 196: Dearie Dolls

Welcome back!

It's another challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.   This week's sketch is really fun, and versatile.   I can already tell that I'll be using it again.

Our sponsor is is Mary Ellen from Dearie Dolls.   She has a very cool site.  She posts poetry and her artwork on her blog and it's all there for you to enjoy .... free.  Here's a bit more about her, in her own words:

I have always been a crafter and a stay at home mom that was able to make enough on handmades to help out and still be there for my kids who are all grown now. I have six grandchildren ranging in age from six months up to ten years. I started to draw digis about a year and a half ago. I like to write poetry and have illustrated some of my children's poems.

My digi blog is a place for card makers and others to download free images. I like to tell a little story with most digis and feel that the innocence of children is full of color, imagination and humor and so most of my artwork is a reflection of that. I truly hope that everyone that visits can find something useful and fun.

We'd like everyone to visit her site, download a favorite image and join in our sketch fun this week.  She has some wonderful images.

Our prize this week?  Why it's the instant gratification of freebie Dearie Doll images for everyone!!! Please be sure to leave Mary Ellen a sweet comment and let her know you found Dearie Dolls from SSW.
