SSS 616: Cute Halloween set

There is a new sketch challenge over on the Catch The Bug blog.  Stella wants you to use lots of circles on your card ... two to be exact!!  I wanted to create a card that opened to reveal a scene.  I'm using the Cute Halloween Set 1 from Bugaboo.

I measured poorly and so my mummy is a bit too close to the moon (I know, the old adage: Measure twice, "print" once IS coming to mind in this situation) oh well.  I probably should have reprinted the image, but I thought that I could make it work. And I still like how it turned out overall.

OBG: I Bake Because

Over on the Catch The Bug blog we are using some Oldie But (still) Goodie images.  I am a huge fan of Jodie's women images.  I feel like JJ, Stella and Margaret could be close personal friends of mine!! This is JJ and the exact name of this Bugaboo image is I Bake Because ... Yeeees.  After a day of dealing with people, there times when I just NEED to bake!

I liked the sketch over on the Cheerful Sketches Challenge blog. I used a rolling pin for one of the narrow rectangles but followed it otherwise.

Dragonfly Dreams has an "Anything Goes" theme on their blog and I am also submitting this for their challenge.

ABC - New Shoes

It's Anything But A Card day over on the Catch The Bug blog. I was inspired by my friend Eileen who is soo creative.  She bought these inexpensive shoes from Wal-Mart and painted them with Dr. Suess images.  I'm not as good with paint as she is, so I wondered if I could a digi image as a guide for painting.  The answer is YES!

I've always loved this image from Bugaboo.  It's called Bella Trio and I thought that it would make cute shoes.  So what the heck ... I decided to go for it.  I bought the shoes and then taped them up so I would't get paint in areas that I didn't want.

Next time I will also tape the INSIDE of the shoe because as you can see from the finished shoe ... I got yellow inside.  Apparently I will be dyeing my socks yellow for the next couple of days by wearing the shoes ... oops.  Learn from my mistake!

I printed the image twice.  Once with paper so that I could judge where I wanted to put the image on my shoe.  And then I printed it again with my friend's Cricket, using transfer tape.

I stuck the image on the shoes and used it as a guide for where to place the paint.  The transfer vinyl didn't stick well to the shoes.  Next I will use regular vinyl and then paint around the black images.

I actually think the shoes turned out cute!

SS530: Sparkle N Sprinkle

Can you tell ... I REALLY like this image!!  I used this little hedgie from Bugaboo twice without realizing it!  As I said before, it's Birthday Hedgie 01.  He makes a cute card and is so fun to color.

Bugaboo Saturday Theme: Make Us Smile

It's time for another challenge on the Catch The Bug blog.  This week the challenge is to make a funny card.  My card features the Bugaboo image, Birthday Hedgie01.  The inside says, "Not sure where, but apparently I'm from there."

I don't know if it's funny or just pathetic at how accurate this card is about my ability to get a card out on time (insert sad face here) But ... eventually I remember and my cards ARE pretty!

SSS 614: Dear Santa

There is a new sketch challenge over on the Catch The Bug blog.  Stella wants you to use up all the scraps of paper in your stash ... I've got PLENTY of those!!

I decided to use this darling image that I already had colored!  This is Candy Cane Mouse but there are LOTS of other fantastic Christmas images over on the Bugaboo site.
