From the Heart August Progressive
The family and I decided to hike to the top of Mount Herman today. This beautiful mountain isn't that far from my house but it's quite a hike. It's 9,063 feet to the top and my knees feel EVERY bit of the elevation! We determined that the last time we made it to the top was 12 years ago, before the kiddos. The trail is super steep and full of gravel. But the view from the top is Uh-mazing!
I also wanted to show you my entry for the From the Heart Progressive Card challenge. It's a pretty good deal, all you have to do is make a card with the image of the month and the next month you get the next image FOR FREE!

SSW2 Doodle Pantry rewind
This week over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge we have a bit of a rewind. Our sketch comes to us from December 2012 (waaaay back when I was a brand new DT member).
We've got Laurie Wilson from Doodle Pantry as our sponsor. I'm using one of her older snowman sets: Snowman Pile-Up. How fun are these silly snowmen? There are LOTS of snowmen images to check out in her shop.
There is a $10 prize for winning this week. We hope you'll stop in to join us this week.

Gerda Steiner August
Since I broke the vacuum this afternoon … I decided to carpe diem and run to the art studio to work on the Gerda Steiner Progressive challenge. How cute is this image? I immediately thought: Christmas card when I saw this little cutie.
Junior Engineer tells me that I "shouldn't have forced" the bag-less canister back on to the vacuum. I'm quite certain that I did INDEED break something but when Senior Engineer gets home, he will no doubt confirm the demise of the Dyson, and reiterate the "don't force things" comment.
Frankly, I don't think I'm responsible enough to operate this expensive piece of machinery. Someone else probably ought to take care of the carpets from now on.
I'm using the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. I rotated it to fit my image. I'm also using the "Purple Rain" theme over on Dragonfly Journeys (and thank you VERY much Jeannie, now I have that song stuck in my head!)

SSW2-65 DigiStamp Boutique
I woke up this morning shouting, "Oh crud!! (I may have used another word here … feel free to insert your favorite swear word) Is today Wednesday?" Ken just laughed and confirmed that it was indeed the middle of the week. Ugh. Sorry teamies I totally lost track of the days. The craziness of the first week of school WILL do that.
Soo, as I discovered, it's Wednesday and that means that Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 has a new sketch challenge. Our sponsor is the fabulous Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique. This week I'm using her Arctic Fun set. Three great images PLUS sentiments that match. The only hard part is deciding if you want the Summer Arctic Fun set or the Winter!
Sally-Ann is offering our winner a £10 voucher to her store. Sweet!!
I hope that you will join in the fun.

SSW2-64 Dilly Beans
Hello my friends.
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another sketch opportunity from Sally, our resident sketch guru over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.
We are super-dooper excited to welcome back Megan Suarez, the artist owner of DillyBeans Stamps as our sponsor this week. She will be providing the challenge winner with 3 free images from the Dilly Beans on-line shop.
This week, I used Penelope and the Birdcage for my card. What you are probably wondering is … where IS the birdcage? I wanted to focus more on Penelope and that sweet bird in her hand so I "cut" out the birdcage (and THERE is the beauty of digi-images!! Love them!!) Megan has really fun images on her blog so I do encourage a look-see when you have some time.
Ready to see this week's sketch? Here it is:

It's another Wednesday and that means another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. This week we are sponsored by A Day For Daisies. Tammy is offering a $12 gift certificate to her shop.
I'm using her Ladybug Hello for my card. What a fantastic image! She has a ton of ladybug images to choose from but this one is MY favorite!
I hope that you are inspired to join us for our challenge this week.
Why don't you stop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog and leave a little love for my fellow design team members.

FTH #114
Just a quick post.
I needed a thank you card for my MIL. The From the Heart sketch was perfect for my card. This picture is really terrible. In real life this card is so bright and cheery. Stupid camera just couldn't deal with all the white I guess.
I AM going to bore you with a tiny bit a parental pride (sorry).
Over the weekend both boys competed in a pistol competition. Not only did the oldest medal in the team competition but he also medaled in the Regional Individual AND National Individual competition. This guy won two silvers and a bronze medal. Not too shabby for a kid who has only been shooting for 9 months.
