SSW2: Cheeky DigiStamp Boutique

Hello Wednesday Friends.

I'm back to share a card that I made for this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge.

This week we are being sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique.  I used Sally-Ann's Cheeky Monkey set (I love this set!!).  There are three fun images and all are fabulous!  Sally-Ann is offering our winner a  £10 voucher to her store.  Cool!

I'm also using this card for the Breast Cancer Hope You Can Cling To challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  It's their annual card drive to benefit cancer patients.  This is it's 5th year.

Lydia challenged us to use the paper tole technique.  There is an interesting tutorial over on the SCS blog if you aren't sure what it is.  Here's another picture so you can see my layers better.

What I learned was ... I do it wrong.  Apparently you shouldn't see white underneath all the layers.  None of the glues I tried worked so in the end, I used the pop-dots I always do to give me the depth that I wanted (unfortunately, they are WHITE pop-dots).  I might have to invest in the recommended glue ... I have to admit that I like it darker underneath.

I hope that you can pop over to the Sweet Sketch blog this week to participate.  YOU could be our next winner!

  1. Hi Joanna I really love your card this week its such a cute image and love the paper tole technique. Years ago I had a go at paper tole and the glue I used was Silicone Sealant. You could get it in a tube in those days and it made each layer sit properly on each other. I worked for Dow Corning in those days an American Company the worlds largest Silicone manufactures in the world, so I got it for nothing. There is acid cure and neutral cure I can't remember which one I used. Acid cure, cures quicker and has a vinegar odor to it. Hope this helps. Take care and have a great week.

  4. Hello Joanna, thanks for your great post this week at SSW2! I adore this fun Cheeky Monkey BBQ card! However, it makes me wish our summer would last a bit longer. I shouldn't complain as this is the first week we have had rain. I love how you layered your image and your plate and fork paper couldn't be more perfect! Fabulous job!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
