FTH #58

Ever had an abysmal day?

Today is mine.  Here's why:

 1)  I broke my car side mirror (for the second time in three months)
 2)  I'm trying to format my cellphone ... it isn't going well
 3)  I made a mistake and sent my child to school without his lunch
 4)  I have a million things to do before we leave on vacation Thursday.

Soo, I turned to card making to cheer me up (what's the largest river in the world ... DENIAL!)  This activity isn't getting anything on my pre-travel list done but I am feeling better!

I joined in the sketch challenge over at From the Heart Stamps.  Their twist is to make it monochromatic.  I decided to go full on and do both.  I used Faith's Birdbrain Brew to make a manly birthday card.  I love those little birds in their tighty-whities!!  I plan to use this card later this month when DH has his birthday.

  1. This is awesome Joanna. Love the way you colored the bottle, looks so realistic. LOL about denial, that is probably my middle name. At least you had some craft fun and made a super cute card!

  3. Nice job! After the day you've had - I'd say a beer is in order haha! Great coloring and love your papers - very good pick for that image! Thanks for joining this week's FTHS sketch challenge! Hope it all gets better and you have a great vacation!

  5. I know those kind of days, Joanna-- the ones where you wish you could just crawl back in bed and stay there! Hope you are having a great trip to make up for it.

Great card; those browns are perfect for this image! I have to admit I first thought the chick was holding a chocolate pretzel (must be because of the chocolate DP), but then I realized those might not go so well with a beer?

And the blue really is a great accent!
