SSW2: Twisted Dilly Beans!

Not going to lie ... I'm a little bit worried that this won't post on time.  Relaxing and leaving my computer alone to "do it's thing" is not something that sits well with me.  I maaaaaaay be a bit of a control freak.  But the reason that "Mac" is on his own is because I am still in Arizona: visiting, shopping, museum-ing, and swimming (Well, the pool is a balmy 55, so maybe not so much on the swimming thing).

Over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, we have a fun new sponsor.  It's Megan from Dilly Beans.  Since it's the end of the month (already?!!) you can pick your favorite sketch from 2014 to participate.  Our "twist" this week is to feature Fairies or Mermaids on your project.  I'll bet you're thinking ... hey, I remember that sketch, didn't you just use it?  The answer is yes, just 2 weeks ago.  I loved it then and still do now!

Megan is offering up 2 free images to this week's winner.  I hope you will play.

SSW2: DigiStamp Boutique

It's Wednesday!

Today is the last day of school for the boys before Spring Break.  I don't know who is more excited, them or ME!!  We leave tomorrow for Arizona to see family and friends.  Seeing loved ones and getting a bit of warmer weather is the plan!!  This winter sure has been a looooong one!

But back to Wednesday, it's time for another sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  Sally has a really fun sketch for us.

Our sponsor this week is Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.  We are so grateful that she sponsors us monthly.  Quick, run over there ... lots of darling images to peruse!  And while you are "blurffing," you might want to check out my teamies fabby creations and leave a bit of love.

FTH #58

Ever had an abysmal day?

Today is mine.  Here's why:

 1)  I broke my car side mirror (for the second time in three months)
 2)  I'm trying to format my cellphone ... it isn't going well
 3)  I made a mistake and sent my child to school without his lunch
 4)  I have a million things to do before we leave on vacation Thursday.

Soo, I turned to card making to cheer me up (what's the largest river in the world ... DENIAL!)  This activity isn't getting anything on my pre-travel list done but I am feeling better!

I joined in the sketch challenge over at From the Heart Stamps.  Their twist is to make it monochromatic.  I decided to go full on and do both.  I used Faith's Birdbrain Brew to make a manly birthday card.  I love those little birds in their tighty-whities!!  I plan to use this card later this month when DH has his birthday.

SSW2-09: Doodle Pantry

We've got some fun lined up for you over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  There is a new sketch challenge and the return of a favorite sponsor: Doodle Pantry!

I'm using her cute little Balloon Ants.  The thing about Doodle Pantry that I really love is that all her images come as both line art and colored.  I chose to use the colored image to save some time.  I have a lot on my plate since I will be spending much of the week in Denver helping my MIL recover from heart surgery.

Why don't you swing by the SSW2 blog and leave the other designers some love ... they did an amazing job.  This week's prize is $10 to spend in the Doodle Pantry on-line store! Don't forget to comment on the SSW2 blog so that you are eligible to win the grand prize.

FTH #57

Home for a quick change of clothes.  I need to make dinner for THIS family and then I'm out the door again to go back to Denver to help my MIL.  She had a cardiac procedure and is already home!  Amazing how quickly the insurance companies shove you out the doors of hospitals these days.

I made this yesterday (when I was supposed to be packing) to join in the sketch challenge over at From the Heart.  They have a sketch to follow and the "twist" of adding dry embossing.  I did a modified version of the sketch and then included the embossing.  I just could NOT get the scallops to work for me.

From the Heart Monthly Image-March

I just got an e-mail from my youngest son's teacher.  Apparently he went to school wearing his pants on ... backwards.  Outstanding.

If you are like me, you are probably scratching your head, wondering how he got them zipped up that way?  Or perhaps, how he (or me for that matter) didn't notice before leaving for school that they were ON backwards?  I'm a shoe-in for the mother of the year award!

I used Hamlet Pigwit, From the Heart's March image.  How cute is he?

SSW2-08: ADFD

Happy Wednesday peeps.

It's time for another sketch challenge over at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  This week we have Tammy from A Day For Daisies as our sponsor.

She has fantastic whimsical images that are just darn fun to use.  This week I chose A Lap Full of Kittens."  I loved the idea of playing with a bunch of babies.  Who could have a bad day with kittens and puppies in your lap!  Our neighbor came over to tell me that she has puppies.  I want one but my mean hubby shook his head "No" rather firmly!  No lap full of puppies for me!

Anywho, we DO hope you will join in the fun this week.   Don't forget to comment so you can WIN the $12 up for grabs in the ADFD shop.

Missed it by thiiiiis much ...

I was working to finish this card yesterday so I could post this before the close of the submission deadline for the From the Heart sketch challenge but those pesky kids wanted to be fed dinner.  I missed the deadline by 20 minutes .... ugh.

Oh well,  at least I met the end of the month deadline for the Monthly Image challenge.  This is Tracie's choice.  She challenged us to make her a card using Bird on a Dogwood Branch by Stampavie.  She also challenged us to put a butterfly on the card.  Sorry Tracie, to be honest, I forgot about your butterfly challenge until now.

It's already in the mail to you ... no butterfly.  Oops.
